Hotel Posada Toledo & Galería
A magical place that takes you back in time. That is Posada Toledo Hotel & Gallery. Well located in the historic center of the colonial city of Mérida, downed at 58th Street #487 between 57 and 55 just two blocks away from Main Square Plaza where you will find the Cathedral, the Government Palace, City Hall, Theaters, Universities and restaurants among other places of interest. Posada Toledo Hotel & Gallery was originally a French-style private residence, built in the late nineteenth century and inhabited by one of the most prominent families in Yucatan during the height of the sisal industry.This house have been adapted over time to offer a hosting service with the facilities of the XXI century but with an environment of more than 200 years of history.
The hotel has an indoor garden surrounded by corridors framed by arches and columns and high ceilings with beams. Floors and walls are decorated with the original mosaics, typical of the beautiful French architecture of the ancient time.
The corridors are also adorned with furniture of very fine hand carved wood that match the high doorways.
At the same time, in several rooms and in different spaces is a sample of paintings of the art gallery that is part of the hotel and whose hall has constant exhibitions of local artists, as part of the School of Painting belonging to the group of the Hotel .
